One of the most frustrating things about working from home is when you’re on an important phone call and the door bell rings. Then you have to decide whether to put the call on hold and make the journey to the front door for what could very well just be the neighbor girl selling cookies.

The trip to the front door really isn’t the worst of it. It’s the interruption to your concentration that causes a drop in your productivity. If whoever is at the door is a sales person or a pizza delivery person for a pizza you didn’t order, then you may add a little anger on top of your interrupted concentration.
